March 5 – LA County and Cities Sue Edison Over Eaton Fire

Los Angeles County and the cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre have filed lawsuits against Southern California Edison, claiming the equipment caused the Eaton Fire. The lawsuits cite the video and photo evidence showing flames near Edison’s transmission towers and note the company reported a “fault” on its lines at the time of ignition. They aim to recover hundreds of millions of dollars spent on emergency services, repairs, and public safety. Officials claim Edison failed to shut off power despite extreme fire weather warnings and are seeking compensation for widespread damage to infrastructure, public lands, and environmental resources.
