April 28 - Federal Judges Join Lawsuit Against LADWP Over Palisades Fire

Two federal judges who lost their homes in the January Palisades Fire have joined over 750 residents in suing the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). The lawsuit claims LADWP failed to prepare for or respond to the fire, even after clear warnings of extreme fire weather. The complaint argues that empty reservoirs and energized power lines made the situation worse, leading to more fire outbreaks during high winds. The suit, recently consolidated with other cases, accuses LADWP of ignoring known risks tied to outdated and poorly managed infrastructure.
