April 30 - Lawmakers Push Back on State Farm Rate Hike Amid Fire Claim Complaints

In response to growing concerns from Los Angeles County wildfire survivors, several California lawmakers, including Senator Sasha Renée Pérez, are urging the state to pause State Farm’s proposed emergency rate increases. These hikes, which include a 17% jump for homeowners and up to 38% for rental property insurance, come as many survivors report mishandled claims, including delays, denials, and poor communication from the insurer.

The legislators are calling for a full investigation into State Farm’s practices before any rate increase is considered.
