October 8 - Suspect Arrested for Starting Palisades Fire 

Authorities arrested suspect Jonathan Rinderknecht, accused of starting the fire that killed 12 people and destroyed nearly 8,000 homes in the Palisades area. If convicted, Rinderknecht would face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating this matter, with help from the Los Angeles Police Department and the United States Forest Service.
